Nokia Asha 501 enters Indian Market only in Rs 5,199

Nokia has launched a new Mobile Feature Phone under its Flagship Asha series of mobile phones in the Indian Market, named as Nokia Asha 501. The new Nokia Asha 501 was first unveiled by Nokia in May, 2013. This Feature Phone is yet to be officially unveiled by the Company but is listed on Nokia’s e-Commerce Website for Pre-Order with a price tag just above 5k.

The Nokia Asha 501 features a 3-inch QVGA Capacitive Dual-Touchscreen Display with 320 x 240p Screen Resolution, Operates on Nokia’s Asha Platform, 3.2 MP Rear Camera, 4 GB of Internal Memory expandable up to 32 GB via external MicroSD Card, Dual-SIM, Connectivity via EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 & Micro-USB 2.0 and is powered by a 1200 mAh Battery. The Nokia Asha 501 also comes loaded with Nokia Xpress Browser, Facebook, Twitter and Video & Photo Sharing via Slam.

The new Nokia Asha OS Platform features two homescreens. The first homescreen is a ‘Fastlane’ which is like a notification panel where the user can interact with recent activities via Widgets and app Notifications, while Nokia’s second homescreen is same as the traditional screen. The Nokia Asha 501′s Fastlane Homescreen multi-tasking feature makes it almost similar to Nokia’s Lumia series.
