Idea Gift New Free Facebook Messenger Service

Idea Cellular has come up with a new Free Facebook Messenger service for its 2G and 3G Prepaid Subscribers in the country. Mobile data usage and access to Social networks using Mobile Internet service has grown up in the country eyeing this Idea Cellular has come up with such an attractive offering luring new Prepaid connection.

This new Free Facebook Messenger service is available for all Idea Cellular’s 2G and 3G Prepaid Subscribers which shall allow them to send messages, share pictures, locations and start group chat via Facebook’s Messenger Application. This new offer comes with a validity period of 3 months from the date of activation on Idea network. This service will be available for activation until July 31, 2013.

To enjoy Idea’s Free Facebook Messenger service an Idea Prepaid Subscriber should have an Android Device or an iPhone or iOS Device. Then Idea’s 2G or 3G Prepaid subscribers have to download and install the Facebook Messenger application from Google Play Store for Android users or App Store in case of iOS users.

Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular said, “Nearly 50% of data users on the Idea network access Facebook on their mobile phones. The free Facebook Messenger service will enhance their social networking experience and enable Facebook users to chat with their contacts while on the move.”

Kevin D’Souza, Country Growth Manager, Facebook said, “We are happy that Idea subscribers can now enjoy free access to Facebook Messenger and experience new features such as Chat Heads and Stickers. This partnership allows us to connect people in new areas and offer them the Facebook experience on the Idea network.”

Idea Cellular also claims to be having over 3.5 Lakh Smartphone users on its network, who will be able to enjoy its new Free Facebook Messenger service. Idea has also introduced a range of 3G Android Smartphones in the country, targeted towards the growth of Smartphone users in the country.
